The guide data and hard drive will be checked automatically as part of the reboot. The reboot may take a little longer if there needs to be some sort of fix. This is normal. Occasionally you will see a message that the hard drive needs to be checked and that this will take some time.
Once you get back to live TV, reboot again, immediately. This will clear out a lot of logs including all the old guide data. It's technically still in beta — and that's a fact that DirecTV Now is pretty clear about.
It also means that you can't record everything. So far, the streams of local channels are off limits to us here for recording. It's possible that might vary by market, though.
