Just play the game and sometimes you accidentally find them. Steam profile. May 13, I would suggest searching the unknown sectors at least because those are the ones that the Kha'ak M6 tends to turn up in. May 13, The script is the easiest way. Finding the ships is, relatively, a bigger waste of time than in X3TC, because: 1.
The ships aren't unique anymore you can buy previously unique ships at some shipyards in X3AP. The ships may be far from the center of the sector.
With the war zones spewing free missile crates and other wreckage all over the place, and the new Stock Exchange feature in X3AP, it is much easier to make money in the beginning of the game, and you pretty much don't need to go find a free ship to sell anymore. Installs in seconds with the Plugin Manager, and gives you a way to find things without being a cheat.
You still have to work to find things May 13, New version has new quieter sounds and a Mute Button so that you can quickly cancel the pings in the current sector. May 13, Awesome, thanks for the link. That is a good compromise between outright cheating and ignoring it altogether. Does the "Reveal Objects" on the M5 special commands work for derelict ships?
Answer: No, it works for stations, asteroids and gates but not ships even derelict ones. There are no abandoned ships like in Vanilla. The only ships you can find out there, were beaten by the AI ; And that command only mark static objects like stations or gates :.

There's a command to shuffle the freebies but there is no freebies? There are free ships about, but they are not placed in the same positions each game like they are in vanilla, they are randomly spawned by script at the start of a new game.
No free ships show up at the start with Scorp's map script though? And it does find bailed ships and the buggy no pilot mapping service ships, and freight drones :p. Or are they placed later on in outlying sectors? I'm waiting on the second wave of expansion. Thus you can find free ships also with Scorps Map I think , but with standard settings this is not very likely though you could adjust the bailing settings in the custom difficulty menu.
The GNS tells you about unclaimed ships one sector away and the AL-plugin for shuffling is quite useless ;. I don't know what SirPuffalott has been puffing but those coordinates make no sense. You certainly can find things things in normal play! I think all the ships are within scanner range of an asteroid or station. The DDTC mod actually randomizes all the ownerless ship locations and I've still found plenty in that mod. I bumped into an Advanced Eclipse while simply exploring the galaxy.
